Save the Date! Elmer’s Blackpool Trail Date Announced

Exciting news for art enthusiasts and families alike! Brian House Children’s Hospice, the heartwarming charity behind Elmer’s Big Parade Blackpool, has officially announced the dates for Blackpool's first-ever large-scale public art trail.

Mark your calendars for an unforgettable journey through creativity, community, and compassion. The free, family-friendly trail will feature a vibrant array of at least 30 large Elmer sculptures, each uniquely designed and painted by talented artists. These charming sculptures will be strategically placed in key locations around Blackpool, transforming the town into a whimsical wonderland.

Running for eight weeks from April 13th to June 9th, 2024, locals and visitors alike will have the opportunity to embark on a delightful adventure, 'collecting' each Elmer along the way. As you explore, be sure to unlock special rewards through the trail app, adding an extra layer of excitement to your experience.

But the magic doesn't end there! After June 9th, join us for a final farewell event where all the Elmers will come together for the first and only time before they are auctioned off to raise money for Brian House Children’s Hospice.

Linzi Warburton, Head of Fundraising, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We can’t wait to see our unique Elmers ‘on parade’ and see the many thousands of people enjoying them in town and unlocking special rewards on our trail app throughout the eight weeks."

Brought to you by Brian House in partnership with Wild in Art and Andersen Press, Elmer’s Big Parade Blackpool is a celebration of creativity, community spirit, and the enduring magic of childhood. Inspired by David McKee’s beloved children’s books, these whimsical sculptures promise to enchant both young and old alike.

In addition to the large Elmer sculptures, a herd of Young Elmers, lovingly crafted by local schools and youth organizations, will grace the trail, adding an extra touch of local flair and creativity.

Elmer’s Big Parade Blackpool wouldn't be possible without the generous support of our Presenting Partners Thompson Contracts and Ameon, Learning Programme Sponsor Tower Insurance, and official supporters Shared Services Connected Ltd (SSCL) and Beaverbrooks.

So, mark your calendars, gather your loved ones, and get ready to embark on a magical journey through Blackpool's streets, where art, community, and compassion collide in a celebration like no other. See you there!
